Introduction: I feel like it's becoming less common for service providers to *listen* to the client. Big Island Hair specializes in bridal hair & makeup, so most of the time, my client is a woman that's getting ready to have one of the most important hair/makeup appointments of her lifetime. It's so important that we get a proper consultation. I not only listen to my client, but ask specific questions so that I can get a well-rounded idea of who she is and what her expectations are for me. One of the most common characteristics of a successful+talented beauty professional is a possession of confidence, which is important, but unfortunately it's often accompanied by an inflated sense of self. I believe that there should be an alluring balance that someone in my position should possess.. Because I've been working exclusively with brides for the last decade, I also hold the ability to keep a calm disposition [no matter the current situation] and do my best to make sure that my client is pleased that they hired me.
