Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. For those out there that are not gamblers and don't want to run the risk of a DJ not showing or not knowing what they are doing I recommend doing the following 3 things at minimum to help avoid the chances of getting someone who isn't a professional in the field of DJing.

1.Ask for references
2.Check with the local Department of Commerce and Consumer affairs (you can look up company names on their website)
3.Ask if they carry General and or Public Liability insurance (any true professional will have this and can show proof)

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. A few key things that will assist us in providing services for our customers include:
-How many guest
-Average age of the guest
-Indoor or Outdoor
-How many hours do you need our services
-What kind of music
-A realistic budget in mind

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We simply keep in mind that we work for our customer's, not the other way around. We started our business in Japan, a country known for superior customer service and we pride ourselves on being able to do the same.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. This is a good question, (smiling) We get asked most why do we charge what we charge for our services since we "are just playing music". Well, the answer to that is a simple one. When you factor in the amount of time it takes to truly understand your customer's needs only then can you begin to work. By that I mean, it takes several hours to properly prepare the appropriate music for each event, communicating in person and via telephone and email (we leave no question unanswered), traveling to and from the venue, setting up and breaking down (we are normally the first ones to arrive and last to leave), but that is what we do and we wouldn't change a thing.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. It greatly helps if our customers truly understand that being a DJ is not only about just playing music. A true professional DJ has spent numerous years of learning the craft of DJing, to include but not limited to choosing the proper song selection, the ability to read the crowd and understanding how music and or video constructed to properly mix.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. I would say try to find someone you know who is already a DJ or DJing. Try to get as much knowledge as you can from that person even if they are just starting. We all started somewhere. I would also recommend seeking out some DJ forums to see what DJ's and aspiring DJ's are talking about to get a good idea of what may be to come.
