- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently photographed a wonderful outdoor wedding on a beautiful summer day in the Rose Garden of the Des Moines Art Center, a beautiful location in Des Moines. The couple had a wonderful sense of style but also brought a sense of casual whimsy. Because of that, we were able to not only capture their special event, but were able to have fun to capture some expressions, moments and sense of togetherness among the guests that we otherwise many not have gotten. It was great fun.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
With the proliferation of cameras, particularly in smart phones, "pictures" are taken everywhere by almost everyone. The question then becomes: "Why should I hire a professional photographer?" The simple reason is that we spend a lifetime learning about light, angles, and the world around us and work hard to capture an image that not only truly captures a subject, but we also strive to bring a creative aspect to every image. When you hire a professional photographer, you're not hiring a fancy camera; you're hiring an artist.
