Before I decided to choose CKM I did my research. This system is in over 40 different countries, including Japan. It has also made TV appearances on Discovery Channel's Human Weapon, History Channel's Weaponology, Celebrity Fit Club, and on the cover of Black Belt Magazine! I enjoy instiling confidence into people who once never had it before. Students leave my class with their head held high, knowing that they have the knowledge to defend themselves if they had to. They know this system really works. Even those who have spent hundreds of dollars in the past on traditional martial arts and never felt like they learned what they needed to know. There is high value in what I teach them.

I'm currently a student taking instruction from Rick; started just a couple months ago. It's a far better experience than my previous attempts at various martial arts. You learn to fight and end the conflict quickly! The movements you learn are relatively easy to learn; I believe just about anyone could do this. Clearly an expert at his craft, Rick excels at communicating and demonstrating the simple yet devastating techniques he teaches. We frequently perform multiple attacker scenarios which are great for showing how quickly you can learn and what you can work on to improve. His teaching style is not rigid; I felt comfortable from the first moment I walked in the door. All of the other students I have met are great and the class is very diverse. On top of it being a lot of fun, you also get a nice workout! I always feel great after I get done with class. If you are like me and have ever been interested in Krav Maga, you gotta come check this class out, I bet you love it.

Several months ago I had the pleasure of becoming friends with an amazing lady whose story of an attack she endured not quite a year ago. Shortly there after I met Rich. It was then that I found an opportunity to reach out to the women I care about and put together a private session with Richard. I am a survivor of domestic violence so going into this class I had my own anxieties. Richard and his team were amazing. There was not one of of us from the group who didn't leave there feeling a bit empowered. If you are a father, a husband, a brother and you have a woman in your life that you care about...get her with Richard and his team. While I hope I will never have to use what I learned today...I know I will be able reflect and defend.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For Commando Krav Maga you start with the 5 week Level 1 Course that consists of defense against Chokes, Guns, Knives, Punches, and Ground Attacks. If you are a good fit for the program we offer enrollment after that. For Boxing you can start out with the month-to-month rate. After that we offer you enrollment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every year in order to maintain my certification I am required to Level up and take another Combat Survival Institute training bootcamp
