FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is based on a reasonable hourly rate plus equipment and travel expenses. Although I have a general hourly rate, when we sit down to go over your story and the way you want it told we'll agree to a price and set it into our contract. My basic prices don't include any prints, but I am certainly able to be the middleman for prints if you'd like. Usually local superstores have great photo printing set up, and so ordering the prints online isn't always your most cost-efficient option.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common jobs so far are senior portraits, baby/one year old photography, baby videos, and family portraits.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It might be tempting to go with the cheapest photographer/videographer/designer, but the best thing you can do for yourself is look at their blog, if they have one. Their portfolio is their absolute best work, and if you'll notice there are only a few select projects that make it to the portfolio. The average person that uses their services will only get an average effort from them - a "C" if you will, or a 70% effort. However, if they have a regularly updated blog, that means they are putting 100% into each project, and they believe that every piece of art they create is worth a feature on their blog. The website is a big deal too, for obvious reasons - but it stands true that someone who wants to be represented well by you will give you their best work, 100% of the time. It's worth the extra cash for someone that won't drop the ball, especially when you've worked hard on your event, family, degree, or business.
