I was born in California, traveled the West, and am now living amongst the lakes and trees of the beautiful Inland Northwest.

I have committed my life's work to documenting our world, and I would love to spend some time making photos of you.

My degree in photojournalism helped me to hone my technical, artistic and storytelling abilities. Whenever I photograph, I treat it as history in the making.

It may be an assignment from a newspaper or magazine, a wedding or an engagement shoot with a fantastic couple, or a portrait session for someone looking to update their professional quality photo.

Always 110% effort. If you have specific requests, I love working together to ensure we make that photograph you have always wanted.

I am currently running a Thumbtack special:
•Full day wedding photojournalism (based off price list): 15% discount

Please inquire regarding editorial or corporate requests. My editorial site can be found through the links section on the site listed.

I look forward to hearing from you! Don't be shy!

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Engagement shoots, portrait shoots, wedding photojournalism, editorial assignments, sports photography, landscape photography, stock photography, editing photos

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Pay attention to the different types of photographers out there. Attention to detail is important, nobody wants a photograph of themselves with a light pole or a tree coming out of their head!!!

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Anyone can make a nice photograph, with patience and practice. Like any profession, it takes time and commitment to produce a higher quality of work. Try changing your camera to the manual setting for a weekend. It will challenge you to play with the buttons and dials a little more, but at the end of the weekend you will be astounded at the difference in quality!

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. I am available for travel throughout the Inland Northwest usually on pretty short notice, and with a few days notice I can travel almost anywhere in the country.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My photographic work is different than others, I have an artistic eye for composition and a keen sense of when special moments are going to occur. This helps me to bring a very modern and stylized type of photography to the table.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love meeting new people from all walks of life on a regular basis. Whether it's a firefighter who jumps out of airplanes and into trees in rural Idaho, or a couple who have decided to make that lifelong commitment together. Always interesting personalities.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Most commonly customers ask me about my prices. I operate off a needs-based price list. If you speak with me I can almost always accommodate your budget.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. A few months ago I was called by a national news publication for a two day assignment in Central Idaho. It was all very last minute. I ended up driving for 6 hours along the beautiful snake river, and finally arrived at around midnight. The next morning I was making photographs of firefighters training to jump out of airplanes. So cool!

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I would like customers to have a better understanding of quality photography. Sometimes it seems that people accept medicore work from non-professionals, when if they were to invest a little bit of money they would be much happier with the final product.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have always love photography. I once worked in a building in downtown San Francisco, in the sales/marketing world. There came a point in my life when I realized that I would be much happier if I was creating photographs and telling stories. So I went to college and finished my degree in Journalism. And I have been traveling and making photographs of people professionally ever since.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I am a member of the National Press Photographer's Association, and SportsShooter.com

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. High-Definition Video on Still Cameras are an important development in the future of photography and photojournalism. Keep your eye out!
