FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically charge a fee for the Introductory Consultation because is sometimes includes a preliminary design illustration. As far as additional services go, I can charge an hourly rate or a "scope of project" rate for my Interior Design clients. My landscape/hardscape and remodeling projects are quoted on an individual basis.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically chat with my perspective clients on the phone about their project and what they are looking to accomplish. The Introductory Design Consultation is a critical starting point for a project. Sometimes the client just needs a two hour consultation to get some ideas and can implement the project on their own. Other times additional full landscape/hardscape design, interior design or remodeling design is needed. Prior to the consultation, I will email my clients a questionnaire to get them thinking about some specifics relating to their project that they might not have thought about. I also use the questionnaire to gather some of their "likes and dislikes" to help me understand them a bit better.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My college degree is in Interior Design and Business Management. However, I have been involved in the Chicago Botanic Garden program to gain my landscape education.
