About @ U-Can-Play-Music-Studios

Learn it right at @U-Can-Play-Music-Studios in Wheaton and Aurora, IL.

We offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced drums, acoustic and electric guitars or bass guitar, and voice lessons for ages 8 to 75.

We can teach anyone to play, using a proven system of audio and video exercises, with music play alongs that make the process fun, challenging and musically rewarding!

We provide all teaching materials and music charts. You bring the talent, passion, and desire! You have a choice of coming to our new studio in Wheaton, IL. My home studio is located in the Aurora/Naperville area...

I can also travel to you, being a fully mobile instructor, to do drums, bass, voice, or guitar instruction in the comfort of your home.

Guitars, of course, are very portable. Obviously, drums are not. I have both at my studio, set up and ready to play. If I come to you for drum lessons, it would be preferable that you have a drum kit, though I do have a Porta-Pad setup that would allow me to instruct without a kit in your home.

You should have a guitar; if not, we can provide one temporarily, until you are ready to purchase one. (I will cheerfully assist you in finding the best guitar or drum set for your budget!)

I've been a patient and prolific instructor for over 20 years! I am excellent with children and adults. I also instruct ADD and ADHD students, and I understand their special learning needs...

Call me for details and scheduling. Thank you!

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I'm excellent at finding used instruments in like-new condition @ very resonable prices...Why buy retail, when you can purchase a better guitar, bass, or drums for less?
I also comb the internet for hard to find sheet music, & put together Lesson CD's, & Video's for my students to practice with...

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. I am a mobile instructor...I travel to most of my students to do in-home Lessons...I find this works best for most parents trying to save time, & money...The students also tend to feel comfortable in their home environment, & they can learn/practice on their own instruments...If they do not have an instrument, I can provide a portable solution until they do...Let me know the circumstances when you contact me...

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My passion, & experience for music really shines...I succeed at getting my students motivated to learn, & perfect their perfomance by setting goals in a fun & creative way...I will also challenge my students to reach for the next level by linking what they practice, to real musicians, & the music that made them great...Real world experience: I toured with various bands all over the West Coast during the 70's & 80's...I also worked as a recording/live sound engineer for other bands when not on tour...I also worked as a Session musician at several Southern California Recording Studios...

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The excitement on my students faces!..Watching them Master a Performance, a phrase, or a piece of music that they have been working on...Preparing students to successfully perform, whether it's for a School-Band/ School Music Program, or to play music in a Contemporary Jazz, or Rock Band...Working together as a team betters both student, & instructor musically speaking...Music is a Way-of-Life, & my Passion...Make a Great Noise Unto The Lord!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have been a Musician for over 35 years...It is my passion, & my calling...I have performed, & toured all over the West Coast during the 1970's & 80's...I'm very good with people, & an excellent communicator/motivator...Teaching music just felt natural, & I've been instructing for over 20 years...

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Concerts, broadcast television, & the Internet...I'm always on the look-out for the better mouse-trap...Any technique, or practice routine that will help my students learn faster, or perfect what they know is incorporated into the process...I believe in a solid-foundation, but I'm always open, or teaching innovation with music...There is so much to learn, & that's what make's it fun...I, & my students are always learning...
