- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Illinois licensing requires that we take an average of 12 hours of Continuing Education each year. I view that as a bare minimum, for people who aren't truly passionate about the profession. In 2013, I took over 100 hours of continuing education courses. I choose my courses based in part on what I love and enjoy, and in part based on issues my clients are struggling with.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I provide Massage, CranioSacral therapy, Zero Balancing and Reiki treatments for general relaxation, stress reduction, pain relief, and to promote healing. The Usui System of Reiki practice is a technique for restoring the proper flow of ki in the body. It is administered by "laying on hands", and heals by flowing through the affected parts of the body or its energy field, and charging those areas with positive energy. During your session, I will guide this energy, focusing the positive energy so that it can break apart stagnation and blockages caused by illness or negative memories, thoughts and feelings, and allow the natural flow of energy to be restored.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Find someone with whom you feel comfortable and at ease. Look for someone who focuses on balance, and helping you allow yourself to heal, rather than someone who claims he or she can force a change. Don't trust someone who says he or she can cure all of your problems in just one treatment.
