Introduction: I was a teacher for 8 years and after having children of my own, I wanted to continue teaching but outside the classroom. I tutored students every summer during my teaching career and now provide tutoring sessions year round to students that need private instruction and enrichment.
I'm dedicated to helping students improve their grades, complete assigned homework and provide strategies to support executive functioning skills. In addition, I collaborate with parents on ways to carry over learned skills and communicate regularily with the students teacher to understand what's being taught in the classroom.

I hired Lauren to help my 11 year old twins with math and English homework. She came to our home and worked with them both. Her first session was just yesterday.
She impressed me in that she was incredibly patient and encouraging. She went above and beyond in that we had originally hired her for one hour but once she dug in with my son it became clear this was a longer project - she ended up staying at our house for 1 1/2 hours! After the first session, Lauren followed up with me. She provided a plan of action to get my children the help they need now and how to get them to where they can work more independently. It was wonderful.
In my case, homework had become a tough, with my twins fighting over my time and questioning whether or not I really know how to do their math problems (I do, but not the way they are learning them!). Honestly, this is the best money I might ever spend. Now, homework is about a peaceful chance to work with a wonderful, qualified teacher rather than fight with mom about fractions!

She is very positive and patient with my kids. She works at their level and encourages them to use critical thinking. My kids are really enjoying their time with her (3rd and 5th grade kids).

Lauren is absolutely spectacular! My 11 year old has been near impossible to motivate and Lauren had an immediate impact in reversing her attitude. She provided strong organizational skills and a clear plan customized to my daughter's needs. She reached out to the teachers and has provided me with advice on how best to support homework activities.
She is always punctual and does not keep a clock, making sure the work is done before she leaves.
We couldn't be happier.
