FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a physician, acupuncturist, and holistic practitioner, I participate in many hours of continuing medical education each month to stay at the top of my game on a wide variety of subjects. I read constantly and attend several conferences each year.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I specialize in the kinds of health problems that western approaches don't do well: insomnia, gastrointestinal issues, headaches, aches and pains, anxiety, depression, or other things that someone has said are "all in your head." I know there is a mind-body connection: of course what happens in your mind is going to manifest in your body. You have a nervous system that was designed to do exactly that. Eastern approaches work on your body, but also decrease stress, anxiety, depression and other emotional issues that are influencing the health of your body and your mind. That is the beauty of this form of medicine.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Take the time to find a practitioner who will really invest in you as a person. In my opinion, taking the time to get to know my patients--where they are coming from, what kinds of obstacles they have overcome, what motivates them or hinders them, and where they would like to be--is absolutely critical. That is why I devote 2 hours to a single patient when they come to see me for the first time. I also want to have time to address questions, explain a plan of action and adjust that if necessary based on their wishes, and then get started on treatment.
