I am a well qualified and educated musician who loves to teach. I gig regularly around the Chicago area with several different very high-quality bands and ensembles, but on my off days, I love imparting my knowledge and love for music to any and all who are willing to learn, and hopefully cultivating an interest of music in all types of people. I have a degree in jazz studies from Roosevelt University and have received several awards for my playing, including a downbeat award and a Grammy.
Lessons will not be cookie-cutter, taught from a book, store-bought lessons. I want to make each individual lesson tailored to the needs and wants of the individual students. I want to do more than teach you all your favorite songs, I want to teach you how you can learn those songs yourself. So, whether you want to work on your technique, improvisation, songwriting or ear-training, I am more than capable of helping you reach your goals.
