Ever wanted to make your very own video games?

Rising Tide is a game development studio, and is now extending a branch into education for game development. The primary focus of these workshops is to explore the broad range of skills that play roles in making games. Games come to life through the combined efforts of programmers, CG modelers and animators, texture artists, writers, musicians, directors, as well as many others.

Over the course of the workshops and lessons, students start a guided project of their own using software that is appropriate for their experience level and be guided through the whole process. Once their project is completed, whether it's a game, portfolio, or animation etc, they can repeat the same workflow with more in-depth software and methods, or collaborate with other students, which requires advanced planning.

For those who get through the most complex software, they will have a firm grasp on the skills needed to work in the game industry, and should be more than ready to pursue an education at college level for their specific interest. Workshops include instruction-time, as well as computer time. Lessons are individualized, and tailored to the student's specific interests and goals. Here is some information about the classes:

The software we teach:
* Photoshop, SAI, The GIMP
* C++, AS3, Game Maker, RPGMaker
* Flash, 3dsMax, Maya, Blender
* FL Studio, Ableton Live, SFXR

Prerequisites:
* Students should know how to navigate a computer fairly well, such as opening applications and how to access menus in programs.
* No prior software knowledge required, but is recommended if you want to learn more in-depth software.
