Introduction: With music in his blood since birth in the Nation's Capitol, Jeffrey Taylor began teaching himself to mix and blend while still in high school. After moving to Baltimore City at the young age of 18, he played his first booking at the legendary Redwood Trust. JT was thrust into the nightclub world from the other side of the decks. A hip hop DJ and turntablist, at the age of 17, Jeffrey heard his first taste of real circuit house music, experiencing Peter Rauhofer's "Live @ ROXY Vol. 1" from beginning to end. There was no turning back. Rapidly expanding his collection of underground beats and vinyls became his new obsession. To this day Jeffrey's sound is heavily influenced by greats, like Danny Tenaglia, Victor Calderone, Junior, and of course, the legend himself, Peter Rauhofer. Surrounded by veteran DJs from early on, much of he was taught about house music was preached by mentors who firmly believed that the club scene should first be about the music before anything else. Jeffrey has vowed to help re-ignite a scene that has lost its fire over the course of the past decade. At 27 and having been taught lessons from DJs with limitless talent and decades of experience, he promises to bridge the musical generation gap, joining DJs, such as Cindel (Miami), and serving Ovahness (NYC) in the new wave of producers slated on reviving the feeling that we all have come to miss so much. These lessons have remained at the forefront of his style, and the sound Jeffrey has created is completely unique – old skool, yet futuristic and heavily influenced by the filthy bass lines of Baltimore Club music and the tribal rhythms and tech-house beats of the ballroom scene. Redwood Trust's after-hour Rize party became his first residency, playing alongside the Archangel Gabriel at the popular weekly for over a year. JT has since held residencies and bookings at bars and clubs throughout B-More and DC, including Sonar, 1722, SkyLounge, Green Olive, Grand Central and The Hippo (Baltimore), and Wet nightclub (DC) before it was shut down. The demolition of Nation (Capitol Ballroom) was the end of an era for that entire region. After a hiatus of about 4 years, the beats are back, serving the tribal tech house and sexy vocals to the children in Baltimore, NYC, and Chicago, his new home. Since he landed, Jeffrey has played bookings at several after-hour/underground events and venues, such as Hydrate and Minibar, where he held a brief residency at the beginning of 2013. His new home is Drop in Lincoln Park. He makes his mark every Saturday night with varying time slots, but plays until 5:00 a.m. once a month in a true after-hour format. Jeffrey's sound and following are fast on the rise, and there's plenty more to come in the upcoming months. Stay tuned!
