Introduction: Mallory VonRohn (RYT200) began her exploration with yoga in 2012. It only took one class until she developed a love of the yoga practice. After completing her teacher training at Spring Yoga & Fitness Center under David Duerkop and Jill Mockaitis, she began teaching athletic-based vinyasa classes in Chicago in 2014. Growing up as a competitive gymnast for 15 years, Mallory suffered a few serious injuries. Looking for a lower impact form of movement, she gravitated toward dance and graduated with a minor in modern dance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. After teaching gymnastics and dance or five years, she discovered yoga in search of a lifelong practice. Mallory incorporates her gymnastic and dance background into her yoga classes by emplacing fluid transitions between dynamic and challenging postures. Her practice helps students find softness and stillness in their strength while maintaining a constant awareness of their breath. Her hands-on and verbal adjustments help students access more in each posture and find stability within their practice. You will leave her class feeling stronger, longer and more in awe of the yoga practice.
