Introduction: Haraka is movement. Movement is inevitably about change. At Haraka, we are dedicated to facilitating this change in body and spirit with individuals seeking increased freedom of movement, flexibility, strength and ease of pain. Haraka offers consultations, private and small group yoga classes and movement therapy. Located in Lincoln Park, we are easily accessible via I90/94 and a short walk from the UP-N and UP-NW Clybourn stop.

Having participated in both Manal's private and group classes, I have had the opportunity to experience her wisdom, intention, and love in her practice. Her instruction is not the kind that only exists with you in the classroom, it is the kind that you take with you into your daily life. Normally, I have a difficult time being present in most yoga classes, but find myself focused and at peace under Manal's guidance. Her cues are simple, yet detailed enough to ensure my proper form and natural attention to breathing. Her background in restorative yoga complements the asana sequences she creates, and is evident in the compassion she has for the mental and physical well-being of those in her classes. Manal is a great resource and I look forward to continually learning with her. If you have the opportunity to work with Manal, you will indeed have a peace and growth filled occasion.

Manal is a fantastic teacher! She is flexible and always willing to work with my crazy schedule, to get our classes in every week. Her sessions are specifically tailored for my body and ability. She has a deep understanding of yoga, and she is honest and compassionate in our lessons (which I really appreciated coming from the larger classes where instructors can be cold and feel generic). She pays great attention to my weaknesses and strengths and is super encouraging when I really need the motivation. The studio is beautiful and clean and I always leave feeling great!

I've had the opportunity to take many yoga classes with Manal. She is a very intuitive and gentle teacher with strong understanding of the body and her cues are very helpful and imaginative. She definitely helps me stay present through some of my more challenging yoga poses and she always reminds us to stay with our breath and move through the challenges so we can gain the true benefits of the practice. Her attention to proper alignment, gentle strength, breathing and her sense of humor make for inspiring classes every time! I highly recommend Manal's yoga classes, she brings brightness and joy with her every time!
