I have been taking lessons from Dan for more than two and a half years and it something I look forward to every week. Aside from being a great teacher, he is fun, understanding and very talented. He takes the time to help you understand the structure of what you are learning without over burdening you with theory. He is also really interested in making sure you are enjoying playing (that is the point) and getting out of it exactly what you want. Any time I have a request (no matter how absurd) of a song to learn, Dan takes the time to find a good arrangement at my level and teaches it to me. It is really nice having that flexibility and personal investment in my lessons. In just two and a half years, I went from playing no to guitar to be comfortable jamming with my friends while also developing my classical guitar playing skills. His musical interests are vast; from beautiful classical pieces to classic rock solos to movie soundtracks (he loves Storybook Love from the Princess Bride). This blend of genres and talents truly sets Dan a part and I would encourage anyone looking to finally learn the guitar to sign up for lessons with Dan.

Started lessons last year and Dan is fantastic! I have no music talent but Dan has given me the skills so I can play guitar without my wife screaming to turn the amp down. Amazing feeling to be able To play songs that are you have loved your whole life Dan the Man is my hero!

Guitar Chicago is the best option for music lessons in Chicago! Their instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and supportive. They do a fantastic job of working with you to achieve your individual goals. I started as a beginner with no guitar knowlege, and they helped me achieve my goals of playing multiple open mics and music events. I've also been able to meet and work with other Guitar Chicago students! They are always willing to work with my busy schedule, which is very hard to find with other schools or group lessons.

Guitar Chicago does a great job teaching people like me who are not musically gifted. They are patient and make it a fun experience. Never too late to start! I was 50 when I picked up the guitar for the very first time.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Guitar Chicago was started as much for the students as for the instructors. I have worked with a number of instructors in the past that really turned students off their instruments due to poor and uninspired instruction.
