Introduction: Hello! My name is John Nordquist, and I am a recent alumni of DePaul University where I have studied public relations and advertising and creative writing. I have been playing guitar for nearly nine years, and have had experience playing with rock, jazz, blues and big bands, as well as solo work and individual lessons. I have experience with formal performances, live gigs, more informal collaborative sessions, and have taught several individuals the basics of my passion for guitar. I am able to teach electric guitar, acoustic guitar, six- or twelve-string, and even bass guitar basics. Are you or anyone you know interested in learning? No experience is necessary. I can to come to you or arrange a location for lessons according to your preference. Individual or group sessions are available I will teach the following: - Fundamentals such as picking, tabs, chords, scales, keys, progressions, improvisation, etc. - Specific songs (I can propose ideas or accommodate recommendations) - How to play along with music and with other musicians - Songwriting basics - Equipment upkeep such as tuning, tone, action, string changing, basic repairs, etc. - The love of musical expression!
