During the first polar vortex weather event, January 6th, some pipes burst in a first floor unit and then in a second floor unit in our condo building. Rick came out 40 minutes after I called him. He charged his normal handyman rates, not emergency plumber rates (we could not get an emergency plumber to agree come so quickly, as many others in the city were also in need). Rick located where in the walls the pipes burst, came up with a plan to fix them, went to the hardware store for the necessary supplies, and fixed the pipes on the first and second floors. This took six hours. He came back the next day to check back in and repair a hole he had made in the drywall while trying to locate the burst pipe on the second floor. Rick was prompt and communicative, and kept me informed every step of the way - of what the situation was and how much it would cost. He also gave helpful advice on how to try and better prepare for future polar vortex incidents. Thanks, Rick!
