- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We use Xactimate pricing which is the same software insurance companies use. There are set prices for everything and the estimates are very detailed so customers see everything that will be done, used and how long it will take.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm online all the time researching new products, gear, equipment and advances in our industry. We also have meetings to discuss developments and share updates. It's an ongoing process. Our corporate office sends us updates on various issues and makes sure we're keeping up with changes.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
A relative started his own company and taught me. I enjoyed the work but wanted more time interacting with the customers so I moved to Inspector/Project Manager. Now, I spend time with the customer (before, during and after the work is done) and keep my eyes on the work being done by my techs.
