Vintage Image

I started out as a photographer and have photographed thousands of people and products. This experience has given me an acute awareness of the importance of crystal clear and highly detailed images. Achieving photographic perfection involves making choices about lighting and backgrounds that highlight each subject's unique features. Photography does have certain limitations. There are times when it simply isn't practical to drag an object into a studio and place it on a seamless background. Photoshopping imperfections and deleting backgrounds can reach a point where converting the image into a digital illustration becomes more practical and more aesthetically pleasing. That conversion is a time-consuming process requiring patience, a demanding focus on detail, as well as a certain degree of skill. My detailed digital illustrations are distinctive and bear a strong resemblance to hard-line airbrush images.
