I put most emphasis on education and preparing the students to be confident enough on the dance floor in order to be creative and constantly look for ways to improve and look better while dancing. I have confidence in my students' potential and abilities and this is why I don't shy away from a challenge. The moves I teach my students are meant to make them understand how to dance outside of the box while still demonstrating knowledge of the fundamentals. The students that really want to improve and look amazing on the dance floor continue taking my classes because they always are presented with an opportunity to learn something new.
The best part about my job is seeing my students progress, get really good and begin using their skills outside of the studio. There is no greater reward than to be able to witness my students succeed in their dancing careers. Some of them go off to teach dance, others become professional performers and yet others have dancing as a hobby and an inseparable part of their life. Whatever it is that they decide to do, it gives me great joy to hear them say that they are grateful for the instruction that I offered to them. I see my talent, experience and passion as a gift, a gift that I am meant to share and teaching dance is the best way for me to give back.
