Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. I believe that you should always hire a service that gives you the "good vibes/positive energy" and the service should appreciate to talk more into details about your home and why you need help with cleaning. Every client is different so we can't assume that all clients have no time, so why not take the time and chat with the client to get the basic understanding of their needs for a regular maid, and once we've achieve that understanding, we can help the client with the areas most needed. This is where the client will re-hire us because we took the initiative to get a better understanding of their need for help.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I wish I knew the names of my maids. Often times, when I had my own maid service, the maids came in, did not introduce themselves, went straight to cleaning and ignored me as I walked past them. I believe that you should know who is in your home for several hours. Here at Ziembastic, as soon as we get to your front door, we introduce ourselves by our first names and title with the company and let our clients know that if they need anything, please let us know as we are there in their home so that we can address any concerns before we finish cleaning.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Does your employee have the right to work in the US? Many maids services hire undocumented persons to avoid paying for taxes and paying for background checks. This is unfair to the Americans and is also a high risk to the clients who have no real knowledge as to who the person is in their home, which leaves the client wandering their home taking a glimpse of the maid's every movement, making sure she's not doing anything she's not allowed to do. We recommend that you ask these types of questions to protect your home and family of theft and criminals.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. The client should have as much information from other maid services before contacting us, for comparison in rates and quality of work.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We go the extra mile in many ways; by putting your personal belongings back in their proper places and giving that extra touch so your home feels like "home".

For instance, we may even move your couch to a different spot where it has a "warm feel". These extra touches have surprised a lot of our clients and they weren't disappointed.

We practice excellency and always have room for improvement.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love being my own boss and choosing the hours I want to work. This is something I've always wanted to do as a child and I'm happy that I can help others. That part is very rewarding.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. From our website..

Q: Your company name is very unique. What does it stand for?
Well I must say, I do get this question a lot:-) I put up a poll on Facebook about what to name our company. I didn't want it to be simple and like all the rest out there. I wanted to stand out.

A lot of my friends sent their suggestions, but my aunt Mahlyn picked a winner and I was very excited about it. She put together my husband's and my last name, which is Ziemba, and the word "fantastic", therefore, it resulted in Ziembastic. There you go! :-D

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I've done a lot of glamour modeling in the past and currently focusing in fitness modeling. After two babies, I wouldn't have been able to lose 16lbs without starting a cleaning service.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Being the third of five, as a child I remember always being the one who rearranges the living room or my parent's bedroom, and I did the cleaning and cooking. I liked the feeling it gave me for being "good" and productive and the credit I got from my parents after they got home.So as I got older, I realized that I really loved cleaning and how it relieved my stress, and the puzzles fitted.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. We recently donated a "cleaning day" to our children's school. They didn't have a regular cleaning service, but the teachers did the cleaning themselves, and I asked if I could be the one in charge of the bathrooms. They were happy about that because apparently, nobody likes to do it. Except me! So I cleaned 9 toilets that day and also rearranged the Teacher's Lounge. They were impressed and now I'm their regular cleaning service.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Yes, I do. I go to the library and every week they have a class for small business. I attend those classes, as well as online. I also do a lot of researches on a better way to clean and to help our earth stay clean.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. I've had friends of mine ask me this actually and I always said; First, you have to LIKE cleaning because you are going to be YOUR maid for a while until your business goes well then you can hire someone. If you don't like cleaning and just love the money, then it won't work for you. Also, if you love what you do, money will follow surely.
