Introduction: At S.O.S. we are committed to providing each student with the resources they will need to succeed at playing the instrument of their choice. With that in mind, our instructors do whatever is necessary to enhance each student's learning experience starting at each scheduled session and continuing throughout the week with the required practice time.
Seeing young and adult individuals go from wishing they could play their favorite tune - on the instrument of their choice - to performing a recital in front of their relatives and friends is simply priceless.

Sam is a very devoted piano instructor. He is good with children and my three daughters simply adore him!
They have made a great progress last year and I hope he'll continue teaching them this year, too.

I work with Sam because of our involvement with Intonation Music Workshop, a foundation that provides music instruction to children aged 6-17 in Chicago's underserved communities. In this capacity, I've had the opportunity to observe Sam's musical skills as a musician and as an instructor. I've been impressed with both. Sam plays a number of instruments, understands music theory, and easily communicates his knowledge to beginning students. He has a knack for conveying his excitement for music to even his youngest students and they respond by demonstrating their pleasure in learning to play themselves. Sam is an excellent instructor and I recommend him highly.

Samuel is a very patient and skilled musician who works with my two sons, ages 4 and 5 years old. My children, after a few piano lessons, they are both able to identify the notes on the F & G Clef as well as play simple tunes. His teaching approach is strengths based and he fully understands the psychology of small children with regards to promoting skill and self confidence. We are very fortunate to be connected with Samuel Ocean Studios. I would recommend SOS to any skill level, without hesitation.
