Organizing rates are $60/hour and personal assistant work is $40/hour.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been organizing informally ever since I was in middle school. As I got older my mom recognized that this was a skill of mine and always encouraged me to open up my own business doing it. It wasn't until I got older that I also realized that I possessed a talent that not everyone has and decided to finally showcase it in a way that could grant me financial freedom.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently worked with a single mother who, despite being very organized and successful at her job, had a difficult time transferring those skills to her home. After four sessions with her, she sent me an e-mail saying "Jessica, thanks to your "system" and things I've learned from you, this weekend I noticed a huge improvement in my ability to clean up and sort things in my usual routine. [My daughter] and a friend had the most fun, 24-hour play date in which they put toys all over the house. But, they noticed how nice it is looking and made a huge effort to pick up. It was so much easier now that things are sorted and simplified. I was doing some of my homework assignments from you and it is so much easier for me now that I see how to approach it from you. I even threw out a few more bags of papers and unneeded things, and took another two big bags to the Salvation Army. My room is getting markedly better - you can even see my beautiful chair again! And I've gone through the remainder of my closet floor items. It is so good to be unstressed about my house condition on a Sunday night for the first time I can remember. It's giving me new energy to tackle the remaining things to do." I have never been more proud of a client - she has made such incredible progress and I know that it is partially due to me and my line of work.
