Ever wanted to learn a foreign language, but thought it would be too hard? Have you tried, only to be frustrated by inadequate teaching, high cost and slow results? Well, if this is you, then talk to me.
I'm a bona fide polyglot, who could speak Spanish, French, German and English, and have taught each of the languages in at least two of the others. I have a good idea for the kinds of obstacles that the brain faces when learning another language and I am well-equipped to help you overcome them.
So, I'm the real thing.
Past clients have included everyone from high-school students, diplomats, bankers, paralegals, restaurant and hotel workers, electricians - you name it. I have the experience and the know-how to address any and all teaching and study needs.
There are no materials to buy and no books to be filled with costly well-intentioned exercises. All you need is a tape recorder, a dictionary and note-taking material. That's it.
Group rates are also available and I have quite a bit of experience working with couples.
Languages are one of the great passions of my life. They have become a pillar of what I need to do to live and feel alive. I will do everything I can to share that joy with you.
So, contact me if you're interested or just curious.
Peace.
Question and answer
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. There are no secrets to learning a language, no tricks. Just do it. Be patient with yourself, realize that anything work doing takes time, and enjoy the process. If there were any 'secret' actually, it would be that. Make sure that you're always enjoying this process. The moment you start to feel it as another 'commitment' you're sunk.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Because I actually know what I'm doing and I've never met a teacher better than me. I speak multiple languages QUITE well, and know from almost 13 years experience exactly what kinds of obstacles people face when learning a language. The other thing is that I always make sure to come up with lesson plans and practicing/study suggestions to fit everyone I work with. It would be a cop-out for me to just hand you a book with some exercises in it and call it a day. That's not what you're paying me for.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Learning a new language does wonders for people. For some, it is the accomplishment of a long time dream, for others it helps to prove something to themselves, or to have a chance to widen the horizons of their work-life. But mostly its because I love the art of connection, and being able to connect with someone with their OWN language is really a special kind of experience. I can't even imagine what my life would be like without my languages and I love sharing that with people.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. 'How long will it take?'
Varies. Some get it right away. Some take more time. Some get it very slowly. But most of my students stay with me for anywhere between 8 months to 1 year. And that goes for clients whether they work with me in a group, or individually.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. Many : )
