My name is Warwick. I have over 15 years of experience as a producer, cinematographer and editor. I have shot music videos, television shows, commercials, and film.
My clients ranged from the Chicago Board of Education, Chicago Symphony Orchestras, McDonald's, and Fox Sports. My experience in editing range in the same areas including three reality TV series—two in Chicago and one in Marion, Indiana.
I started out as a supervising editor for a weekly show, “The Celeste Show,” on ABC Television and for HGTV’s (House & Garden Television) TV show, "New Spaces."
You are looking for an experience "scrapper," one who can pull rabbits out of a hat, even if the rabbit or hat wasn't given. This individual has experience in production and post. He shoots one day and edits the next. This individual also creates the 3D animation title open if they are needed by the client.
The advantage of you hiring an individual with a broad knowledge base.
• First, you are getting a producer/cameraman, with a creative editor's eye
• Second, his diverse experienced of software knowledge ranges from Avid to Final Cut
• Third, you are receiving an individual who isn't afraid of working 10 to 12 hours days to meet the clients’ deadline needs; give a call if you have any questions
My rate runs between $40 - $100 per hour, depending on the types of equipment you need for your shoot.
A. Make sure he has adequate equipment for your job. Professional camera, lights and recording devices are a must for your project. Have them send you their resume, a list of their equipment and a link of their demo reel. Their reel is more important than the resume, because anyone can write down their experience.
A. Having a Pre-ditor to help you with your project. This is someone that has the skills of 4 individual jobs on the set (4 man crew/ producer, writer, camera, editor). And in these economical times you want to stretch out your dollar. These type of experienced individuals are a rare find, so if you happen to bump into one, get their number.
A. Best advice I can suggest is for you to have them send you their resume, a list of their equipment and a link of their demo reel. Their reel is more important than the resume, because anyone can write down their experience.
