Introduction: My journey with photography began in a photojournalistic light. I have always enjoyed writing and telling stories, but over time, I found that I was much more successful with a camera, instead of a pen and paper. I still do write, keeping a personal blog, however; I tend to focus more on letting my images do the speaking. The storytelling trait has carried with me through the years, and I believe it allows me to create imagery that evokes emotion. The ultimate goal is to capture moments in time that can be kept forever. Based in Chicago, currently, my portfolio consists of mostly editorial and documentary work. Although my education focused mostly on commercial photography, this transition into editorial seemed natural, coming from photojournalistic beginnings. I don't let myself stray away from my personal work too much. I never put limits on the kind of photography I create because one should never stop growing and expanding. If I am given an opportunity to try something new, I will. I like to believe that my drive to keep growing wherever possible is what makes me a really strong photographer. My hope for the future is to always find balance in what I'm doing. I believe that if you don't have some kind of personal outlet in your work, you will become disconnected with what you're creating. I never want to lose sight of the things that made me fall in love with, photography to begin with; the simple things.
