Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Talk to the business owner. Ask questions! Get a feel for the person coming to entertain your friends, family and children.
Are they willing to work with you to tailor their services to match your event?
Look out for "yes men". If they don't have limits, they arent' being honest with you. No performer can single handedly entertain 100 children in an hour where everyone get a balloon and/or face painting. It's also fair to ask, just how many guests can be serviced in an hour? Ask what their limits are, and compare when you are shopping around.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Be sure the performer is insured and is using child safe standards such as professional grade face paint versus acrylic paints on the skin. Another thing to watch out for: we don't give balloons to children under the age of 1 due to choking hazards. Our motto is if the child isn't old enough to ask for a balloon, they might be too young to have one.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Is this their career or just something they do on the side? Are they professional? Are they insured? Do they work with you to customize their services to your event? Do they have a website they can refer you to look at? Do they have a variety of pictures for you to look at? Can they give you referrals?
