Introduction: My work stands out from others because it is customized for the student. A great deal of effort is put into not only assessing what a student needs but also diagnosing what it is they don't understand about a given concept or problem. I also do not string clients along with lengthy contracts that are excessively expensive and, in the end, do not provide exactly what you are looking for. What I like most about my job is zeroing in on exactly what it is that is keeping a student from understanding a given problem or concept. When that discovery is made, it is highly rewarding to the student and the tutor. This, in my mind, is what the tutoring experience should be all about.

Charlie tutored my son for the ACT and did an exceptional job. He worked with him both on general test taking skills as well as the specific areas where he needed the most help. Charlie is great at working with boys who do not have the longest attention span, as well as those who may not feel they "need" tutoring. He really caters his tutoring style to what he believes will work best for that student. Charlie is also very flexible and was able to work in tutoring time around my son's other activities. After working with Charlie, my son felt much more confident in his ability to do well on the test and improved his scores significantly in all areas. We will be using him again for my daughter in a couple of years.

Charlie helped me understand each section of the ACT, and how to take it apart and work on it, so that I figured out what I needed to do. He taught me strategies, and new ways of looking at problems, but most of all he gave me the confidence to know I could walk into this long and exhausting test and break it all down into manageable parts. I stopped being scared of it. He even told me to eat a big breakfast, and take snacks, and it made a huge difference! (My score improved by 8 points!)
