Summit Building and Remodeling is the home of Contractor John. When other contractors have walked away (or should have), call Contractor John.
With over 35 years in the remodeling and building industry, I excel at problem solving those difficult situations. Building any sized home to remodeling your kitchen, bathroom, finishing a basement, and custom woodworking, are a few of the areas we excel at.
We can create a complete themed room such as sports, 1950s diner and western. In short, any idea you can conceive we can build for you in any space of your home.
When others walk away, call Contractor John.
A. Do not base your selection solely on price. Base your decision on the contractor that has the most experience and knowledge. Do your research so you know what the project should cost and share your budget (money available for project) with your contractor.

A. My secret to share is, it may look easy, it may be easy as long as everything goes according to plan, but when things do not go according to plan, it is the experience and problem solving skills that make it look easy. That base of knowledge to draw on is what the average homeowner, and a lot of contractors do not have. You need to find a contractor that has it. Ask your contractor about an unexpected problem he had and how he solved it.
A. How long has he been in business in this area? What associations and credentials does he have? Does he have references?... and call them!
Insurance?
A. What the budget is. Sometimes people confuse budget and what the job will cost. The job will cost what it will cost. The budget is what you the homeowner has available to spend on the project.
Also make up 2 lists, a "need to have" list and a "want or it would be nice if we had" list, this will help the contractor in his bidding procedure.
