FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The staff at Carol's Travel Service all participate in regular on-going training. This is done in a variety of ways. At times we spend a couple days with a supplier at their headquarters doing full day in depth classes on their product and destinations. Other times the suppliers come into our office for shorter briefings and updates. We do on line training and webinars to keep abreast of this every changing industry. Many in our office have DS designations from the Travel Institute and Tourism Boards. DS stands for Destination Specialist. Of course, one of our best training grounds is all the travel we do so we can experience what we sell first hand.

Ask questions of a travel agency to find out how long they have been in business and their level of expertise in the type of travel you require. Getting a referral is always a great indication you are working with a reputable company. Is the travel agency a member of ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents), CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) - two of the industries prestigious organizations. Do they have accredited counselors with designations such as CTC, (Certified Travel Consultant), MCC (Master Cruise Counselor).
