Introduction: Proudly we are memebers of the Signature Travel Network. Since Signature is made up of only the top 1% of all travel agencies in the nation, our affiliation with this pretigious organization truly puts us in a category of being recognized as the best among the very best. Our delivery of excellent customer service since 1980 has established Carol's Travel Service an a leading travel agency on a national level. We are an authorized travel specialist for FOOD NETWORK, CONDE NAST, and ARCHITECHURAL DIGEST and offer specialy designed cruises and tours with their celebritys and luminaries. Working with the "whole wide world" is both fun and challenging. This is a job that is ever changing and never boring. I meet the best people, work with the most interesting groups, and get to see so many places. I especially enjoy working with our larger groups on custom itineraries and events for their travel programs. I often escort the groups which is very rewarding. Being able to sell memories, experiences, and unique travel programs is a wonderful way to make people happy - and that feels good!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

The staff at Carol's Travel Service all participate in regular on-going training. This is done in a variety of ways. At times we spend a couple days with a supplier at their headquarters doing full day in depth classes on their product and destinations. Other times the suppliers come into our office for shorter briefings and updates. We do on line training and webinars to keep abreast of this every changing industry. Many in our office have DS designations from the Travel Institute and Tourism Boards. DS stands for Destination Specialist. Of course, one of our best training grounds is all the travel we do so we can experience what we sell first hand.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask questions of a travel agency to find out how long they have been in business and their level of expertise in the type of travel you require. Getting a referral is always a great indication you are working with a reputable company. Is the travel agency a member of ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents), CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) - two of the industries prestigious organizations. Do they have accredited counselors with designations such as CTC, (Certified Travel Consultant), MCC (Master Cruise Counselor). You should also be able to get a good feel for their knowledge level by speaking to one of their travel consultants about your needs.
