My name is Lee Harris.

I work as a night life photographer for the Riverfront Times, and I am also the resident photographer at SOL Lounge in the Central West End.

I have been shooting weddings for a few years as well.

When I shoot weddings, I have a partner. It works so much easier with two photographers. Even with the two of us, I guarantee our fees are cheaper than anyone else you will find in St. Louis.

I don't stop at party pics and weddings. I am available for any type of professional photography that you may have in mind. Family portraits, head shots, senior pictures, special events, food photography - you name it, and I can shoot it for a very reasonable price.

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I have always been told that I am very personable. I think being a social person is one of the most important things when you're a photographer.
If you're a shy, quiet person it really shows in your photographs. The more comfortable people are around you, the more natural your photographs will turn out.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The thing I like most about my job?
What isn't there to like?
I'm doing what I have always loved to do--to actually be paid for this is absolutely incredible to me.
Other than that...I am so happy that I can give people photographs of some of the most important things in their life.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I was given my first camera when I was eight years old--I am nearly 26 now.

It was always just a hobby, something I LOVED to do.
In 2008 the retail store I was managing went out of business. I had no idea what I was going to do.
Anytime I go out, I always have my camera.
Randomly, the owner of SOL Lounge asked me to start shooting "party pics" for his nightclub so of course I was happy to do so...From there, the Riverfront Times I guess had seen my photos on Facebook and their web editor contacted me and asked if I would be interested in being a nightlife photographer for them.
This really is my dream job. I am so blessed.
