FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If you could have an standard project I guess a standard price would work. I like to customize my price per project, every project is different, I prefer to offer a complete price to complete the project, leaving me to absorb all the variables in time, cost, and miss bidding. If you charge by the hour I feel it can change the customer service dynamic, leaving you with anxiety or possible feeling of false perception of the time involved to complete the project. If you desire an hour rate please ask me.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet you at your project location. Taking time to listen, understand your project or what you are wanting to be completed. I will work to fit into your schedule. I will take measurements and talk thru your project to insure you understand what I am proposing, that I understand your desired outcome. Depending on the project size I will offer a complete price or follow up with you with a complete price that evening. Depending on the project we would consider colors and other materials needed to complete your project. Set a time frame to start and complete your project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in the home repair/ construction field for over 25 years. Working from a framer to a finisher, carpet stretching to vinyl fitting, even the guy cleaning the site after dark when everyone has left for the day. My experience has taught me the valuable lessons that only experience can teach. Many mistakes cost me dearly, sometimes resulting in working for free to replace a piece of miss cut vinyl or a broken window because the insulation technique was a bit heavy. I have learned to take my time and do it right the first time, measure three times cut once, clean as you go or you will kick over the paint can. Age and experience is my training, I am not afraid to tell you I don't know how to do something, nor am I unwilling to hand it over to the professional that does.
