Since 1952, Arthur's Music Store has been in the same Historic Fountain Square area, and is still operated and owned by the Arthur family. Even though much has changed in the previous fifty years, the degree of personal service that Mr. Arthur imparted in his employees and family continues to give a high level of customer satisfaction today.
While mainly a fretted instrument shop (stocking everything musical, except recording gear, organs, and pianos), Arthur's Music is popular for having a huge range of products, from hammered dulcimers to guitars. We are among the few Midwest stores where you can discover pedal steels, digeridoos and Irish tenor banjos alongside guitars, basses, drums, amps and P.A.s. Lessons are offered on all instruments we sell, from accordion to zither, as well as voice and theory. We even teach bagpipe!
Arthur's Music offers on-site luthier and repair service, and stocks accessories and parts for do-it-yourself customizing and repairs. Our instructors team provide private music classes for most instruments here in the shop, as well as theory and voice.
We're pretty easy goin' here, and don't work on commission, so you won't find high-pressure sales activities. We would like you to have fun, return often, and continue playing the music that you love!
