Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask for references and photos samples of work.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Sanding walls before painting to acheive the best results.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. To receive an accurate price quote, you should provide me with:
1. Your location
2. What all is getting painted
3. Room measurements
4. When you are looking to start this project

Thank you in advance for supplying correct information.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We pay attention to detail. We enjoy what we do and you will enjoy having us do it for you!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. It is very rewarding to be able to do something you love and be appreciated for it. I'm able to save my customers money and give them the best service possible.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How are you able to paint so straight and so fast?
19+ years experience. I paint six days a week and love what I do.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. Scott has a nice 4 bedroom house he was renting out that he needed to get ready to be sold. His biggest concern was that his last tenant painted the house very loud blacks, oranges, pinks, blues, reds and greens.

There was some drywall repairs and caulking that also needed done. He wanted a professional to get his beautiful house's walls back to a neutral color and to paint the trim.

I was able to get the work done in 3 days for less than a third of the cost of other estimates. Scott was thrilled on how it turned out and so was I.

Another perfect example of why I love my job.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I was an art student in college. I needed a summer job and had an uncle that owned a painting company. He gave me a job and I found out that my artistic skills made me a natural.
Years later, after working for some of the best custom residential and commercial painting companies in the state, I started my own painting company.

Q. What are your most common types of jobs?

A. Most of my work comes from loyal repeat customers and referrals. Most commonly our projects are high end custom remodeling projects where the homeowner has just purchased a home or is getting it ready to put on the market for sale or to be rented out
.
Of course we also do small projects taking care of those projects best left to professionals such as stairways, tall ceilings and two story foyers.

We also do a lot of drywall repair projects and wood staining.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. My most recent project was for a customer who had purchased a Thatcher Painting gift certificate as a gift for her daughter.

Her daughter had just moved in a brand new house with your basic white walls and trim. She wanted to keep the white trim but put some color on the walls in her living room, kitchen, a small bathroom and a hallway.

She already had the paint. A nice neutral color for the hall and living room and a slightly darker color for the bath room and kitchen.

We were able to put two coats of paint on her walls in a single day and charged her $250. She paid with her gift certificate. Because the gift certificate was for $300, I gave her another gift certificate for $50.

Later that night, I got a call from the mother who had purchased the original gift certificate. She said her daughter was thrilled with the quality and even more thrilled that she still had $50 towards future painting services.

The next day, the daughter's husband called me to schedule getting their master bedroom painted.

Another perfect example of why I get so much repeat business and why I love my job.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Learn the skills it takes to be truely professional before diving head first into a project.

Tony and his crew did an excellent job of fixing up my rental disaster, the occupants did some hideous paint work and Tony brought it back to life and ready to sell for a fraction of the competitiors prices. I would highly reccomend him if you want excellent work at very reasonable prices! Thanks for a great Job Tony!!

Tony has done several painting jobs for us. He has done both inside and outside painting for us. Tony and his workers even painted our 2 story entryway. He does a great job and loves his job. He is reliable. His prices are reasonable and affordable. I know if I need any painting done he would be the guy to call.

We cannot say enough good things about Tony and his team, so this will be a glowing review. - My husband and I have used Thatcher Painting multiple times over the last 5 years always confident in their professionalism and results. They are so good to us doing little extras that they see along the way or suggesting a less expensive approach to fixing a problem that benefits us but rarely them. Thatcher Painting always has the customer's needs and fits me into a schedule, especially if I have an event or other I can always count on him/them being on time with reasonable pricing/scheduling. I truly enjoy having them in my home to work-- truly reliable and do a great job! It is so difficult to find reliable people like Tony !-- Today a drywall patch that Tony had fixed last week was ruined by a slamming door (we have three children!). I was so embarrassed to show him the wall this morning, but Tony happily patched the hole w/o complaint. And he is finding a creative way to save us money by fixing a door instead of replacing it- So they definitely have helped us out of a "jam" more than once :)--Tony is talented in dry-walling and painting as well as artistic design, so it is a great combo for small home repairs especially w/ his carpentry team that is available for larger projects.
