Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Look at the person's portfolio. If their websites, logos, or other creative endeavor looks the same, I would recommend that you move along, as the person as simply designed or bought a template and your money won't be spent on a truly unique design.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Most 'web professionals' use templates and all of their sites look the same. A true web professional works with each individual client to ensure each site looks unique, tailored exactly how the customer wants.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Do you charge per site or per page?
Can I have a logo in black and white as well as a colored version for maximum usage?
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. If looking at purchasing a website, buyers should know the purpose of their website (sales? imaging? a certain message for organizations?). If they have a logo and want to 're-invent' themselves with a new logo, why are they abandoning their logo? If they want a video produced, where will they be showing the video? What formats will they need it in?
