There are probably a hundred restaurants closer to my home than the Local, yet I usually make the extra drive across town and wind up in a booth by the bar. The food is never less than outstanding -- locally-sourced ingredients inventively prepared by people who care about delicious, attractively-plated food. The menu has wonderful old favorites and also interesting specials inspired by seasonal foods and Craig's boundless creativity. The wine and beer selections are reasonable and carefully selected, and the cocktail are terrific. The staff is uniformly friendly, efficient, and informed. Superior ownership and management attract superior employees in this case. It is rare to find first-rate food in such a warm and casual atmosphere -- sans drama and pretense. It is obvious that Craig and Derek started the Local with careful planning -- a thoughtful philosophy about fresh, seasonal ingredients, cooked and served with care by people who are serious about food. I have never had even a mediocre meal there, and cannot recommend it any more highly! I would give them 10 times more stars if I could!

The Local is OUTSTANDING!!! Amazing food with such a variety it's hard to choose. Craig has an exceptional flare for creating the most unique dishes and the wait staff is great. I can't say enough positive things about this restaurant. We are there at least twice a week. It's always crowded especially on Friday and Saturday nights!! AMAZING PLACE!!!

    We cooked for Connor Prairie for the Covered Bridge series and it was awesome to be able to help them in an environment that was perfect. Oh, did I mention there was no kitchen?

    We are a full service cater that offers something different in the catering experience from inception through execution. Your event is given a priority as being unique and thus your guests experience something that is memorable and to be remembered fitting every budget!
