A friend of mine recommended Larry to do some photos for my model portfolio. I wanted to get some outside photos with the country look. We shot at his place in Wakarusa, and he had some very good ideas for many different types of photos. He took about 400 photos and I got to see them all. I picked my favorites and he worked on them to make them look even better. I ended up with 24 of my favorite poses edited and made in to digital files I could use on my websites and have prints made too. The total cost was only $175. Another professional photographer I tried to work with in Topeka did not get nearly as good of photos of me and he charged me $200 just for the shoot. I would recommend Larry for the best outdoor photos.

The business slogan for Kansas Heritage Photography is "Professional Photography at a Reasonable Price" and that sums up my experience with Larry and his photo business. You can pay a lot more and maybe have the name of a well known photographer on you photos, but the photos will not be any better than the ones Larry crated for me during our photo session a while back. He is professional and he knows what he is doing. He does not get in a hurry. He works with those he is photographing to get the kinds of photos they desire rather than just what he thinks is best. I highly recommend this business, but do not just take my word for it. Go to his website and watch the slide show of some of his work on zenfolio. Contact him and talk about what you would like and get an estimate before spending a lot of money with another photographer. http://ksheritage.zenfolio.com/

Heritage Photo is a professional business that does professional work. Prices for the photo sessions and other services offered are quite reasonable. They get the finished product to you in a reasonable amount of time as well. My photo shoot lasted abut two hours. I had 315 photos to choose from and most were very good. The after processing on the ones I picked was outstanding. The cost of the shoot was about $100 and after I picked my favorites my final cost was $150 for the shoot and touched up photos. Everyone I show them to loves them. My only complaint is the $1 a mile travel charge. This makes a shoot very expensive if you live very far from Topeka. I know there is a expense in travel, but I think something like 50 cents a mile would be enough. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting professional photos as long as they do not mind paying for travel.
Kansas Heritage Photography's reply
Kathy, Thank you for your review. I appreciate your comments on our work, and I understand your concern about a mileage charge. Thus, I will explain why we charge $1.00 per mile. First, we try to keep our overall photo charges as low as possible. To do so we must make sure when we travel we are being reimbursed for both our actual fuel expenses as well as the other expenses of operating a motor vehicle. Then there is our time. The time it takes us to travel to and from a photo shoot is not taken away from what we charge for the amount of time contracted for the shoot. For example if we are doing a two hour photo shoot for someone and it takes us an hour for the round trip we do not deduct that hour from the shoot. Once again, THANKS for your feedback. It is truly appreciated. Larry L. Miller 2 March 2014

I did an outdoor "creative and sexy" photo shoot with Larry and the results were outstanding!!! I was wanting something special for my husband. This was it! He is wanting to have the photo I picked enlarged to poster size and hang it in our bedroom!!! I even like the idea. Larry captured me in a light that I can only say makes me feel good about myself as much as my husband loves it too!!! I found Larry easy to work with and there was no pressure for poses that I did not want to do. I had proofs to pick from within a week. They were on a website where only I could see them. Not like what I have heard about other photographers Larry did not post my photos so others could see them. I did have the choice of having mine put on his site, but I choose not to. They are for my husband and me. You can go to his site or contact him if you want to see other samples of people that have allowed him to share their photos. I recommend Larry and Kansas Heritage to anyone that wants some very special photos for her very special one!

I have worked with several photographers building my model portfolio. Some have been professional ones and others just people that had photography as a hobby. I have paid $200 per hour to some that have a well known name just for the photo shoot! They then charge $100 for each photo I have them edit! Their photos are good, but very expensive. Larry is very professional and has provided me with images second to none. My shoot with him was an outdoor shoot, but outdoor shoots are what I enjoy doing, and they are his specialty. He is very easy to work with and he gave me many proof photos to choose from. I ended up picking ten of my favorites. He edited them and got them to me in about a week. My total bill was less than $200. I have not worked with his wife. Her portfolio looks great as well. I would like to work with her someday too.
