Introduction: My mission is to provide lifelong literacy knowledge, skills and empowerment to children and parents in a safe learning environment.
I am an intervention specialist who is a licensed social worker with a master's degree. I have more than ten years of experience in medical social work. I have continued support and intensive training from Fundamental Learning Center, an accredited academic language therapist association site. I am a parent of a child with learning disability. I have the passion to assist all children and parents.
I offer the following services:
* Alphabetic phonics-based curriculum which is the core approach for teaching children who struggle significantly to read (origination 1960)
* Multi-sensory activities utilized to link the visual, auditory and kinesthetic senses
* Drive to work with each student to develop lifelong literacy skills to include comprehension, spelling, writing and listening through a researched-based and research-validated curriculum
* Vocabulary development
* Phonological awareness
* Systematic and structured phonics
* Develop skills to increase fluency in both reading and writing ability
* Comprehension through various activities
I have the passion to work with each individual student while building confidence in each of their individual talents and skills and promoting their ability to effectively learn. All planning and supplies are provided. One-on-one service is available in home or in the school. I have flexible schedule and competitive rates.
