Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. We specialize in stone work ex; patios, walkways, stone walls. We dig lakes, ponds and streams. Selling bamboo plants. Water features, cleanouts, construction and reconstructs. Filling the ponds with beautiful plants and fish. Great looking Waterfalls. We remove bamboo for free. We have a fully funtional greenhouse that we maintain year round. So we always have the plants to get your landscape off to a great start. This year we'll be offering vegetable plants grown from seed right here in my greenhouse. We also have snow removal services in the winter. If you need mulching we can do that too.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask for references. Compare prices. Do they guarantee their work? How long does the guarantee last? Will they be there if I have problems or questions? Will they teach me how to take care of my plants or gardens?Do they carry everything I need for the whole job? How long have they been in business?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Because we teach you everything you need to know about your new garden or plants. No other service provider that we know of does this. Knowledge is over half the battle. Once you have the knowledge you need you will have great success.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Meeting friendly people and satisfied customers. I love it when people express how much they have learned and how grateful they are to have gained this knowledge. I really enjoy learning about gardening and teaching others what I have learned. Bamboo has done this for me it has made me want to learn a great deal more than I know. In my quest to have all the species that I can fit in my yard. I really love growing bamboo. And now all kinds of other plants as well.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How to contain running bamboo. Keep it under control from the start. There are 4 methods: Mowing down new shoots. Trenching around bamboo. Install Bamboo barrier. And just simply kicking over the new shoots. Don't wait 20 years and then try to contain.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I put in a little garden pond for my mom and needed a wall to hold back the dirt from the pond. And so the obcession began. My father wanted his own pond and so on and so on. I now have 9 ponds 2 lakes 1 greenhouse 29 different species of bamboo and thousands of perennials.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Bamboo is quickly becoming the most sought after plant in the world. This will absolutely affect my business I only hope my groves will be able to keep up with the demand. With bamboo in such high demand we need more people to grow it. There are more products made with this plant than any other plant in the world. I will be stepping into the world of mail order very soon. Expanding my operation and great success will follow shortly there after. In this line of business it's getting better everyday.
