About Halftone Studio Photography

Halftone Studio was founded in 2001 by John Perkins to provide truly custom professional photography and photo retouching services.

John Perkins is a graduate of Western Kentucky University's top-ranked Photojournalism Program.

Photojournalism by its very nature requires the photographer to be skilled in every aspect of the photographic field. From wedding photography to product photography to sports, action, portraits and landscapes, the key to any professional image is great light, great moments and unsurpassed quality of the final product.

At Halftone Studio, you'll find that I don't take pictures, but rather, capture art. Please take a few minutes to visit my investments page to view all products and services available.

Question and answer

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. For wedding photography especially look at the provider's entire portfolio to see their style. Also keep in mind one client's particular stylistic requests may not be the same as your own. Also be sure to look at a sample of an entire wedding shoot from a photographer to gauge their true skill. Don't just look at their best 20 pictures from 20 weddings, if you know what I mean.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Many photographers claim to shoot in a journalistic style, but that's all it is... a style. Moments are generally set up and re-enacted, but not here. John's real-world journalistic experience means that he can capture these moments naturally as they happen. This translates to more natural expressions and genuine moments, all the things that make your wedding day real.

This takes pressure off you as well, when you can go about your day an not have to take time to be directed by the photographer, it makes all the difference in the world as to how much you enjoy yourself.

You won't just get a collection of images, you'll get a story.
