At Northern Kentucky K9, we want nothing more than to assist you in building a strong, happy relationship with your dog through education and effective communication.

We’re training dogs for everyday life, starting with a foundation and building upon it with distractions your dog will encounter in the real world.

We customize each training program based on your canine companion’s personality, learning aptitude and the owner’s goals. At NKY K9, we don’t believe our communication should stop when the training program is completed. We’ll continue to be available to our clients for training questions as they arise.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. We have a wide variety of clients. We work with the new puppies in the home to assist with housebreaking & confidence building, the exuberant adolescent who needs guidance in good manners, the dogs who have become aggressive for varying reasons, the on-going assistance with group classes and the fun classes like "Scent Games" or "Agility for FUN".

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Be thorough in your discussions with a trainer you're considering hiring. Ensure their personality is one you can work with so you can build a good relationship with your trainer. Ask for references and call them. Ensure the trainer has an educational background you can verify and is continuing their education as new learning theories are always developing.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Our training stands out from others because of the many years of experience and continued education in varying methods of training we have in our "toolbox" to draw from. This is important so we can truly customize every training program to the individual dog and the goals of the family.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. We love assisting owners in building communication with their dogs to improve their relationship and increase the enjoyment of dog ownership. It's so rewarding hearing back from owners about how much they are now enjoying their dog and all the things their dogs now get to participate in within the family because of the improved behaviors.
