Video Production and Music is my passion! Many years of experience have paved the way for my current level of expertise. I am extremely excited to now offer the stunning cinematic quality of DSLR video. Both corporate and event productions can feature this level of quality. Our Edit system will now accept all of the latest popular HD video formats.

Utilizing high quality tools, we produce exceptional quality video's with vibrant color and clear sound so that even after the mad rush of the event you can relive the magic over and over.

All of our event video's feature post production where we add music, titles and tasteful effects so everything looks great on the completed dvd's & BluRay with full motion menu's. Photo montages Offered. Big screen projection equipment rental is available if you want to show your video (in high definition now!) at the rehearsal, luncheon, etc.

Our video production packages offer single and multiple camera production with true widescreen (16 X 9) high definition cinema quality. Packages utilizing cinema tools add an even more "Hollywood" feel to the production. Customers are encouraged to schedule a time to come by and view samples of our work as we normally have numerous samples from whatever venue the customer has chosen.

Excelsior DJ Service has provided professional DJ entertainment at hundreds of events and we want to help make every party unforgettable.

A typical DJ package includes a well dressed and experienced DJ and MC who makes all of the necessary announcements as well as provides a wireless hand held microphone for toasts. The setup includes a high quality professional sound system, nearly unlimited song music selection (client can create a playlist on our web site if desired), and dmx controlled LED light show or uplighting is available.

Client's are encouraged to fill out our reception questionnaire for weddings where we get all the necessary details about how the event should go. We have back-up equipment and referrals if requested. Making sure that the guests are involved and everything is going to the client's wishes are our highest priority.

Customers can schedule a time to meet if they like and discounts would apply if both video and DJ services are booked.

Mike captured my husband's 60th birthday party on video. He was professional in his interactions with me and also of our guests. Mike captured the essence of the party while making sure the camera was mostly unnoticed. The video he produced of the event was fantastic. Many thanks, Mike.

I had a multicultural wedding on July 2013 and Mike was our DJ and videographer. Words can not describe how awesome of a job he did for us. He got us music from YouTube that was in a completely different language (that we couldn't find CDs for). He was always available to meet, answered all my emails quickly, and was always a professional. He made our guest feel welcome and his selection in music was fun and everyone told us how much they enjoyed it. We had minimal decoration but Mike's great lights created a great dancing enviroment. I am super excited about our video, Mike captured everything perfectly (amazing in that he couldn't understand any of the Buddhist ceremony). Mike was able to edit and give us our video a week after the wedding! I would not hesitate to work with Mike again, or recommend him to our family and friends. Or anyone that demands the best at their wedding!!!

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Weddings are number one followed by all other types of celebrations and corporate/web type production.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Be sure to view detailed samples for video work and ask express your expectations clearly. It doesn't hurt to meet the dj who is handling your event so that you can have that face to face interaction.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. In general events reserved closer to the actual event date will qualify for bigger discounts as the vendor wants to stay busy.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My laid back nature allows me to tailor my style to suit each event's nature.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love the fact that every event is somewhat different and it is always a pleasure to see people celebrating life's greatest moments.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. -Do you have back-up gear?-Answer-Yes
-Do you help keep things moving at the reception-Yes
-Do you honor our "play" (or "do not play") requests?-Yes
-Are you unobtrusive when videotaping?-Yes

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I capture a lot of Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations at one of them a Rabbi entered the party and appeared to be at the wrong event. He proceeded to grab the mic and entertain the crowd by "roasting" different families seated near the dance floor. This was followed by the guest of honor parading in on the shoulders of 3 "fiddler on the roof" dressed dudes. The dudes then did a "bottle" dance while balancing champagne bottles on their heads filled with liquid. Pretty amazing.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I wish that people would recognize the value of experience and dedication in this business.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I studied radio and television production in college.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Last year I produced a short information video for Toyota to showcase one the charities that they co-sponsor with United Way called "Born Learning" . It involved traveling to different locations and interviewing teachers, parents and even the governor. This footage combined with B-Roll made up the finished production.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I log onto my edit program's user group to see what the latest issues are. I also add new gear and software yearly to stay on top of the video technology.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. The cinematic quality that is now available to people like me is very exciting and each year brings new improvements in the final product. Having access to music through the internet at events is also a new and welcome addition to the dj service.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. The last project I worked on was a production of "Wizard of Oz" at CenterStage theatre. Their shows are always top notch and we get awesome sound with a direct feed from the sound board along with a live mic near the orchestra. The shooting and editing of each show takes about 8 hours. My fee is the total sale of dvd and Bluray copies sold.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. For events the video prices are primarily based on amount of time needed and number of camera angles. The main option for the dj service (besides time needed) is lighting.
