FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Students learn basic chords, strumming, and songs. Then, more detailed aspects will be taught, such as picking, scale patterns, chord variations, and even songwriting.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied music education at McNeese State University for 9 years and have taught guitar and voice since 1989. I also have taught the McNeese Leisure Learning and Summer Kid's college for 20 years. Many of my former students are now professional musicians.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Years of experience is an important factor in deciding on a teacher. Also, it is important to let the teacher know the style of music you wish to play as you can decide which teacher to choose. A friendly learning environment is necessary for a student to prosper as well. There are many teaching methods available, but a simple, fun method is most successful in order to keep the student interested while learning.
