- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The biggest continuing education is shooting constantly. Even after a year, I find myself miles better than the year before. You have to keep looking and keep trying to push yourself to do things differently. I've also recently joined the Professional Photographer's Association, so there's a wealth of current information to read over each month. I usually hit photography blogs and websites on a daily basis too. Usually, you can find one or two tips that you never considered. It also exposes you to a lot of different photography styles and techniques, which subconsciously start to find their way into your work.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Professional head shots, group shots, and family sessions. I've also completed a number of product and facility shots for local businesses which have been used in both print and online advertising. All of the images have been taken on location, and feature the unique aspects of New Orleans and the surrounding metropolitan area.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
First, clearly communicate your tastes and expectations. There's no point to taking modern, contemporary photos if you are looking for more of a classical look. Second, trust your photographer to make you and your images look good. On the day of the shoot, just relax and be yourself in front of the camera. If a pose or the lighting isn't working, a good photographer will let you know and adjust. If you feel tense in front of the camera, you'll look tense in front of the camera. Finally, tell your photographer a little about yourself in the beginning. Sometimes a unique hobby or memorable location will help spark a little creativity and help make your session unique.
