A. I have a few clients that I handle all of their home repairs. It ranges from simple re-grouting to a complete kitchen renovation.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Check references. Look at photos and ask questions.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. How to replace a gfci in the bathroom or kitchen. First make sure the power is off. then take mark each wire with some tape and take a photo. Use that photo to replace your bad device.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Over 25 years in home remodeling. 6 years of vocational electrical and plumbing training. Outstanding customer service. I do this work alone. No subcontractors. I enjoy what I do and it shows in the quality of my work.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The ability to be creative. To get that picture out of my clients head and bring it to life for them.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. "Are You insured"? My answer, " Yes".

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. This is priceless. I was repairing a shorting circuit on this older woman's home. She was watching the price is right. And while laying under the house I found the problem and remotely tripped the breaker to be save. ( As I was laying on the wet ground) after starting my repairs I got one of the best jolts from 110 volt that I have ever had. After coming out from under the house and seeing the woman in the service box ( breaker box) I scolded her and her response was " But I wanted to see who won that ( cant remember what it was).. I did have a good laugh after she almost killed me. It was the look on her face that got me. Like a little kid with his hand in the cookie jar. Priceless.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. The amount of time it takes to learn how to complete these tasks. The schooling and field work involved to learn. Also that When I go home at the end of the day, that is not the end of the day for me. Many hours on the computer looking for the best possible deal on materials and researching now products. As well as being inspired by art. All forms of art. Painting and sculpturing are an inspiration for me, these types of artwork are very beautiful to behold. Thank you for reading.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. It happened by accident. I was in school to become a chef but was interested by the electrical class. I switched credits and moved to the electrical class. My mother was not pleased at all. I remember having to come home and cook things that I supposedly learned in class that day. It was tiring but after graduation and coming clean with mom I turned out to be a pretty good cook after all. This pleases my wife to no end.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Putting everything in a contract. Home owners are typically taken advantage of but less know are how contractors are taken advantage of. You will get " I thought we talked about that"? Or " I am sure I said that I wanted that ( insert job, item here) to be in this location or that location". Ever since I put EVERY DETAIL in my contracts I find that this dose not happen to me anymore.
