Introduction: Over the centuries, millions of people throughout the world have practiced martial and healing arts movements to maintain and build their mental and physical health and well being. These practices can be used to recuperate from sickness and disease, to recover from traumatic physical and mental injuries and to reach higher levels of spirituality. Now, the American public is beginning to realize the importance and value of taking responsibility for one’s own health, utilizing a more holistic approach ~ mind, body, breath, movement, balanced diet and a connection to nature ~ to increase overall happiness and quality of life. Zhen Ren Chuan is a martial and healing arts system that offers a complete education in the study of the human mind and body. It encompasses correct and well balanced exercises, movements and forms that date back hundreds and thousands of years. The core of Zhen Ren Chuan’s movement and philosophy comes from the arts of Baguazhang, Chinese Shaolin / White Crane Gong Fu (Kung Fu), Taiji (Tai Chi) and Qi Gong (Chi Kung). Also included in the full curriculum are Chinese Chin Na, Judo / Jujitsu and traditional Chinese and Japanese weaponry. Sparring, Iron Palm and Iron Body training are available to our more advanced students who have developed the proper foundations, skills and discipline. Through the correct practice of Taiji, Bagua and Kung Fu martial arts the practitioner learns to use their entire body in every movement. One becomes more flexible, resilient and elastic in nature with the ability to jump, spin, twist, coil, and move in any direction at any given moment. The body moves as light as feather but with the strength of a bear. The practitioner will be able to increase and regulate the internal energy (Chi) as well as develop overall health and an advanced level of self defense ability. Improvements in mental clarity, increased self awareness, self confidence and concentration are also results from this training. Practitioners develop a calm, relaxed, stress-free mind and an increased level of mind and body unity.
