FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I price on a per-project basis based on the specifics of the production. Although my abovementioned examples feature large budgets, an NPR-quality podcast under 30 minutes can cost $500-$1000 per episode to produce. Keep in mind that music is not free. The annual cost to license a quality music theme can be about $500 per year or more. And if you would like a professional announcer voice to read the open and close of your podcast or read announcements, plan on a few hundred dollars more.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to speak with people and learn the specifics of their project. Once I have a good idea of what you want to accomplish, I try to paint the picture of what you should expect with the process and how long it will take. Also, by doing this, we can usually estimate a more accurate cost.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have recorded hundreds of voice-overs and edited tens of thousands of hours of audio. As a result of my many years in radio, recording music, and producing a wide variety of audio projects, I have developed unique listening skills. I put together a smart, comfortable studio with a Whisper booth and state-of-the-art microphones and sound processing equipment. My ears are fine tuned and my temperament is such that I can draw out the most natural performance from a performer or narrator.
