Luis Rodriguez and his team made my day a dream come true.. they listened to exactly what I wanted and executed it perfectly. Not only did his team make me look amazing, the fun personalities of Nestor, Peter and Dalia helped ease the stress I had on my wedding day!

I had both a good and bad experience with MLR... Good: 1. It was affortable. My hair and makeup was 90 a piece and bridesmaid were 65 a piece. 2. Peter was a great makeup artist! I would highly recommend. 3. I had 5 weeks to find a makeup artist and hairstylist and they did find one for me. Luis did work really hard to try to make things work and I commend him. Bad: 1. The first hairstyle/makeup artist rescheduled me for a personal emergency during trials and end up letting the bride that schedule after me book her and she(Nysak) only emailed me one hour before trials to tell me that she cancel and good luck....How professional? 2. Another person was sent and was not able to do the hairstyle I want at all. 3. The third hairstylist was sent and she was very good(Kristina). Got the hairstyle I had wanted, but then got an email the next day saying that there was a mistake and that she was already triple book for that day. By this time, I had one week left before my wedding. 4. The hairstylist(Danielle) that ended up doing my hair did just fine in the trial, which was 3 days before my wedding. However, on the day of, she decides to do my hair a different way than at the trials and it ended up looking terrible. My hair was greasy and there were bumps, lumps, and fly away hair everywhere. My hairstyle was an extra large bun with side sweep bangs. It wasn't like the picture of the hairstyle I had fell in love with, but it was close enough and I really couldn't be too picky since I only had 3 days left. 4. MLR has a really tough time communicating with each other and understanding scheduling. I had a stressful time the entire time, waiting to see if they would show up or not or if the next day they are going to tell me I am sorry but we made another mistake. 5.I said I wanted airbrush makeup for both my bridesmaid and I and the makeup artist was not made aware that I had wanted this. Lack of communication again! Advice: 1. confirm with your artist to see if the day is actually available before putting the bride through trials and then finding out she couldn't book them to begin with...kind of unprofessional 2. There a tremendous lack in communication between the artist and the management. Never seem to be on the same page.
MLR's reply
Hi Kim, Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. Being the professionals we are, we would like to respond to your message. First, we do not recall you booking Nyska with MLR. Hence why she e-mailed you directly, and not from our agency. We took you on because you were in a compromising situation. Next, Kristina was available but not at the exact time you requested. We would have moved things around if you were more flexible. I have followed up with Danielle and Peter. Both artist confirm you used your own home products that may have caused your hair to become greasy. We do not recommend this. I have seen photos that show little to no fly aways. We only use top of the line hairspray. As far as airbrush is concerned, it did not take place at the trial. Therefore, we would not provide that service on your wedding day. Our advice is to book your artist months in advance. Last minute bookings leave a lot of opportunity for challenges, communication issues, and frankly an unhappy bride. Thank you again for booking MLR Artist, and once again Congratulations! All the best, Lou R. Founder & CEO MLR Artist Management

I hired MLR to style my hair for my wedding, as well as 5 members of my bridal party. This was about two months prior to my wedding, which I understand is a little later than people typically recommend, so I am grateful Lou was able to work with me, especially for a very reasonable price. My experience was mixed - Lou and the artists he manages are all very nice and talented people, but many problems resulted from communication issues. Various details were either forgotten or recorded incorrectly. He was always willing to make things right, though. Here's the breakdown: When I wanted to use vegan-friendly hair products, Lou was helpful in recommending which ones I should purchase for the hair style I wanted. For my first hair trial, no one showed. Lou had an incorrect date for my trial (nearly two weeks off). I was happy to reschedule when he apologized and offered to comp my next trial. The second trial went perfectly, I was very happy with my hair, so I agreed to hire MLR. When I received the contract, the prices were much more expensive than those he provided initially. I notified Lou and he sent me a corrected contract without argument (or apology). On my wedding day, 30 minutes past our scheduled time, the hair stylist hadn't arrived and wasn't answering her cell phone. I was able to track her down at the salon where she worked - and she was there, working! (She said she had a different date for the wedding; Lou said she had a family emergency - ?) Lou said he would find more than one stylist to make up for lost time and drive over right away. Later, Lou arrived with 3 stylists in tow. All were very upbeat, got music playing in the background and served champagne. One member of my party did her own hair before they arrived (just in case things hadn't worked out), but the others were taken care of quickly, and a couple even had their makeup done, which wasn't included in the contract. My hair style was not the one I had planned for, but it still looked nice, so it wasn't a problem. Overall, I'm not sure I would hire MLR again - all the miscommunication was too much of a hassle. But since it all did work out in the end, I was satisfied with the service.
